Meet Marnie Swindells
A dynamic achiever whose journey from a grieving teenager to a boxing champion and successful businesswoman is truly remarkable. Marnie’s story isn’t just about sport or business—it’s about resilience, independence, and an unshakable will to succeed.
"I fell in love with boxing because it represented who I already was—a fighter. Losing my dad at eight, I felt I had to become the main person in the house. Since then, my life has been a fight to do better and be better. I often fail, but my core values are those of a fighter."
Marnie’s move to London and immersion in the boxing world led to medals, coaching accolades, and a deep understanding of the sport’s business potential. Boxing didn’t just shape her physically—it gave her the confidence and insight to launch her own gym, Bronx, and build a brand that empowers others.
"My time as a boxer, coach, and even dabbling in promotion put me in the perfect position to open a gym. It taught me to understand what the market really wanted, what people are looking for from a boxing gym. This helped me come to the market strong and put my best foot forward."
Her ambition didn’t stop at the ring. Inspired by a barrister at her local gym, Marnie pursued a career in law, which ultimately led her to The Apprentice. Winning the 2023 series and securing a business partnership with Lord Sugar was a game-changer, but Marnie doesn’t limit herself to a single role model.
"I try not to hold down one idol and focus on one person. There's so much you can learn from different people—whether it's those who built from nothing or those who maximized an inheritance. Idolizing one person is too limiting."
Despite her success, she’s fully aware of the ruthless nature of both the boxing and business worlds.
"The more I enter this world of business and boxing, I see that it’s a man’s world, and it’s cutthroat out here. People can be absolutely heartless. But I'm ready to stop playing the nice guy and really enter that arena with full force to make it to the top."
Her fighting spirit is undeniable. Every challenge she’s faced has only fueled her hunger to keep pushing forward.
"Fall seven times, stand up eight—you just keep pushing. Many qualities and assets of fighters are within me. I didn't pick boxing; it was in the stars. I was always meant to end up here."
Marnie is at a major turning point in her journey.
"Now is fight-or-flight mode—when things get tough, do you quit or push through like in a fight? Do you hold your hands up and say it's too much, or bite down, head down, and push through?"
Through every round—whether in the ring, the boardroom, or life—Marnie has proven one thing: her resilience is unmatched.
"A lesson I've learned is that you are truly alone. This might sound negative, but it's empowering to realize you don't need anyone else to make things happen. Once you accept that, you're unstoppable. Now, the world is my oyster."
Marnie Swindells is more than a fighter and entrepreneur—she’s a force to be reckoned with.
